Historic Homes Tour

Discover the life and legacy of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton on a tour of the two historic homes and grounds where Elizabeth lived and worked.  The tour is available every hour Fridays - Sundays until March 10, then it resumes to being available every day of the week.

Journey through the dark with candles to light your way to encounter saints, martyrs and souls who awaits to share their stories with you.

This faith-filled walk is ideal for youth groups and families with older children (14+).  Through the encounters, you’ll discover what it means to be truly alive, both now and in the life to come.

Catherine Comes Home



On this living history tour, you’ll go back in time to 1842 to discover the life and legacy of Elizabeth Ann Seton. 
An expert guide will lead you to explore the historic sites of the Seton Shrine, and where you will encounter beloved friends of Mother Seton including her daughter, Catherine, who has returned to Emmitsburg for the first time in 21 years since her mother's death. 




Door to Bethlehem

Open your heart and walk with Mary and Joseph...

Make the Door to Bethlehem experience part of your family’s Advent traditions. 

Based on the tradition of Las Posadas, a guide will lead you on a walk, alongside with the Holy Family to various locations on the grounds of the Seton Shrine. At each site, you’ll witness the ways and excuses we may use to reject Christ.

The end of the walk will bring you to our Basilica; passing through the Door to Bethlehem to be welcomed in a way you might not expect.

These walking tours are for individuals, families, and parties of up to 10 people.  If you are a school group, parish group, organization, a party of 10 or more people, please click HERE to schedule your visit.

Civil War Sisters Tour

Specialty tour on the Sisters experienced around the time of the American Civil War, Battle of Gettysburg, and how they cared for the wounded on both sides.
